Maria’s POV

I woke up to the sound of hurried and loud knocking on my bedroom door, I sprung out of bed and rushed to open the door. It was one of the maids, she looked absolutely tired and harassed, I made a mental note to give all of them a raise at the end of the month.

“Yes, what is it?” I asked her, my voice scratched and edgy from all the crying I did last night.
