Alex’s departure was strange and sudden but I did not have the time to dwell on it because Dr. Carter suddenly said “I will like to have a word with your mother Maria dearest, can you take me to her?”

I knew this confrontation was not one that could be avoided but still I had to try my best “ Is there a chance that you might be willing to let this go? I know my mother has wronged you and you are justified to be mad at her, to hate her even but please I am begging you, going into a battle with my mother will not benefit you” I said to her, this was more for Dr. Carter’s protection than it was for my mother, my mother was ruthless and showed no mercy to her enemies.

A smile crossed Dr. Carter’s face and then she said “Don’t worry about me Dear, I seek no benefit from all this neither do I have anything to lose, it is just something I need to do”

“Dr. Carter, please listen to me, my mother is not a person to have as an enemy, she will ruin you” I said to her.
