Alex’s POV

“Hostile” that was the only word to describe the environment at the mansion, the maids were on edge, the guards were jumpy and the madam herself had smoke coming out of her ears and her eyes blazing with fire.

That was my thought when I walked into the mansion, I was shown immediately to the breakfast room where I found Maria pacing and Ethan was looking very much like a schoolboy that had just being scolded.

I cleared my throat as I walked in, all eyes turned to me, Ethan’s darkened considerably while Maria’s narrowed before she cleared her throat and said “Come in Alex, I am so glad you could join us after all”
