Maria’s POV

There was only one word to describe the situation in my house and it was volatile, everyone was on edge, Ethan was getting worse with each passing day or was it every passing hour? I did not even know anymore, yesterday he had attacked a maid, I shuddered to think about what might have happened if the guards had not restrained him.

I looked like a ghost these days, looking at my reflection in the mirror, I noticed my skin was deathly pale and my hair was losing its natural shine, my lips were a dull pink now and my eyes looked soulless.

A sigh escaped my lips as I tied my hair into a loose ponytail on top of my head, it was not for any form of fashion or style, it was simply to keep out of my way, I had not had a proper meal in days, I had taken to drinking bottle after bottle of wine, the maids had tried to make me eat something but all I could manage was soup.
