Chapter 22

After a few minutes, Brian loosened his grip a little, his voice hoarse. "Tears my coat."

I didn't understand his intentions, but I followed suit.

I was a bit regretful as I watched my multi-million dollar jacket ripped to shreds, and after holding the piece of cloth in my hand, I looked up at Brian and waited for my next order.

He said. “Tie it to your hand; avoid collisions with sharp spikes.”

I was stunned momentarily, then dropped my burning eyes, quickly doing as Brian said.

When I touched the vines, I felt a few extremely sharp thorns pierce the fabric and poke my palm. With a protective layer of material that still hurts so much, how much pain does Brian end up in? Quickly I put aside all out-of-the-ordinary thoughts and focus on climbing. The palm of my hand was stabbed increasingly; it hurt so much that I wanted to let go. But I didn't want to bother Brian; I gritted my teeth and held on to one vine after another, swinging for a while until I reached the big tree.
