Brian's POV:

It was getting dark, and I didn't know how long I had been sitting motionless like that nor what I was afraid of.

Why should I be angry with Kelsey even though I know she means well to me? I acted like a madman and was ready to attack Elias even though he was not at fault for this.

'You think that's right, and she doesn't deserve to be treated so coldly.' Andrew took a chance when I felt a little guilty; he reprimanded me. 'This time, you are too much. Lucky for you, Kelsey is a very nice, charming girl. She doesn't stay angry for long, or you'll have to work hard to apologize to her.'

I kept silent; I hadn't talked to Andrew in years, nor am I now. But just thinking about Kelsey having to participate in that life-and-death battle makes my heart heavy.
