Chapter 48

Kelsey's POV:

I woke up dreamily after a long sleep. The warm sunlight that covered my body gave me an incredibly refreshing feeling. Perhaps because lying for too long made my limbs numb, I tried to move my knuckles. Fortunately, I still felt.

I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking it was ruined when the iron door banged on it that day. Although it was in the past, the images of that day were like a nightmare that always stuck with me and wouldn't let go. I was so scared that I wanted to curl up, suddenly finding Brian sleeping right next to me.

My eyes widened as if they were about to explode, and my mouth muscles stiffened.

'What is happening? Oralie, why...' I choked; the initial feeling of comfort was gone without a trace, and now I could only feel the pressure on my chest.

Oralie was silent, and she didn't seem to be able to answer my question either.
