Pain is crushing, agonizing, and merciless. It possesses the ability to shatter even the strongest minds, reducing them to fragments and dragging them into a pit of excruciating torture. Once it reveals its ugly presence, it ruthlessly sweeps away every trace of goodness like a vicious storm, contorting them against you.

It forces you to beg. It compels you to crumble. It renders you numb and void.

As her eyes slowly opened, a golden glow bathed the dark room, casting a fair illumination. Though her eyesight was feeble, distant sounds of beeping machines echoed in her ears. The dim lighting danced at the edge of her vision, unmistakably signaling that this was not her room. Machines didn't belong in her space.

It then dawned on Sarah that she found herself in the hospital.

But why? Her ankle has healed and so has her knee so why was she back here again?

Her head spinned as she tried to decipher what had happened to her.

Like a comet, the memories hit her.
