Chapter 41

SARAH

It's been three weeks since I got my gunwound. My eyes wandered around the large and beautifully trimmed lawn that covered a vast landscape of Emilio's mansion as the tires of the car glided in smoothly.

I got discharged today and I couldn't be more grateful that I was now free and returning back home. Though my shoulder still felt awfully sore but at least , I am alive and recovering.

Emilio never visited me for once in the hospital. Throughout my three weeks of staying that hospital, he never came to check up on me.

It was like he had disappeared into thin air, like he never existed in my life.

What did I do wrong?

Pain clogged in my chest almost making it impossible for me to breathe as I meditated on the traumatic past events. I thinned my lip and pressed them into a thin line to avoid my sobs escaping from within.
