Chapter Twenty-Two

Waking up beside Asher felt good, it had to be one of the nicest sleeps I’ve had in a long time. Since everything I was forced to endure back home, I always felt lost and scared when I would wake up alone. But when I awoke today, the feeling of belonging engulfed my entire being and I felt free in a sense.

Asher would normally, leave to get some important work done but today he didn’t. We woke up around lunchtime where he told me there would be no point starting work late, so he gave himself a day off to spend it with me. Asher and I actually hadn’t spent a day together since I arrived here, he always has to leave to get whatever work done. So, when he told me he’d be able to stay with me, I got extremely excited.

We agreed that after we both ate, he would give me an overdue tour of the entire pack. I had been hoping somebody would show me around so next time I was alone, I would know the great spots to sit and have a peaceful time with myself.
