Chapter 77: Chloe Paints
When Chloe woke up the next morning Liam was gone, and so were the handcuffs. She pulled herself together, took a shower, got dressed in one of the few outfits she had left out then grabbed her phone off the charger now fully charged and left for work. She texted Kendra telling her she'd call during lunch then she told Michael not to let anyone in her office where she held herself up and spent the whole first half of the day reorganizing all of Jane's files since the whole system was a mess.
"Don't let Jane touch these. Ever. Assign her work and have her turn them back in for you to file. It may seem a bit much, but in the long run, it's better this way." She said to Michael when she finished then she headed to her car for lunch. She sat in her car nibbling on a granola bar from the vending machine as she waited for her best friend to pick up the phone.
