I wasn’t sure what gifts I should bring to let this pack know I truly wanted their aid and peace between our packs. However, with Dereck’s suggestions, we have a few things they will have at least some use for.
The journey there was slow at first. Kai’s wounds had healed mostly, but he had become slower and needed to eat more often than usual just to keep up his strength. At least he had made progress since we first rescued him, and Anita had assured us that Kai would make a full recovery if given enough time.
I was still worried about him coming with us. There was no way he could fight against anyone like this, but he refused to stay behind this time. I couldn’t deny his request after promising he could come with us, so we made do with how slowly he needed to go.

Although I kept my composure, Cedric’s question left me a little dumbfounded. Was he serious? Three alphas had ever ruled in the history of our packs, or any pack before us. The journey back to our pack wasn’t as slow as our arrival. Kai seemed to be in such a good mood, he had a pep in his steps. It made the rest of our group feel a little more enthusiastic as a result.Kai might not be a powerful warrior, compared to any within my pack, but his cheerful, amazing personality, beyond his stubbornness, can be quite contagious.Once we got home, I made sure we had enough room to host the new members. I had a feeling we would need to expand my land beyond what it is now, just to keep everyone safe. However, until we defeat the enemy, there are too many risks to take the time to do that. Today’s training has been so exhausting, but I can already tell that I’ve improved and grown as an alpha. It feels good to be called that again and for others to show me some respect. I guess it helps that I’ve stopped acting out and being so bratty.I run a nice warm bath and dip down into the water, allowing the heat to soothe my muscles. I don’t know how much time we have left, but I think Cedric wants to take the fight to Vukasin. Why he would do so is understandable. At first, came the massage, then being washed by my lovers, and then next was them drying me. I felt the Moon had truly blessed me with such love and bliss. Morning came all too soon for the three of us. I had hoped we would have a little more time to sleep in, but training should never be delayed. Every second we waste, the worse off we will be in battle. I lean over and nudge Dereck first, followed by Kai. I keep my voice gentle, but loud enough to arouse them. “Come on now. Time to get up.” Kai utters his usual morning complaint before tossing away from me. I can’t help but smile at him. Kai has never been a morning person, but last night probably didn’t help. Dereck, however, wakes up after a moment and stretches. With a smile, he wraps an arm around Kai and plants a kiss on his head. “Come on lazybones,” he whispers. “Or else I’ll steal the covers and throw cold water on you.” It takes mere seconds for Kai to get up and shoot out of bed. “I’m awake! I really did not want to go into battle against this pack. My fear of their alpha had not subsided, and knowing he would be just as heartless to our side as the one who had killed my parents brought me nothing but dread. Anything could go wrong, and many of us may never make it home again. This was the reality so many of us had known since we were children. Losing members of our pack, our parents, siblings or even children. I knew this had to end today, and that there was no other choice, but it never made doing this any easier.
