I wasn’t sure what gifts I should bring to let this pack know I truly wanted their aid and peace between our packs. However, with Dereck’s suggestions, we have a few things they will have at least some use for.

The journey there was slow at first. Kai’s wounds had healed mostly, but he had become slower and needed to eat more often than usual just to keep up his strength. At least he had made progress since we first rescued him, and Anita had assured us that Kai would make a full recovery if given enough time.

I was still worried about him coming with us. There was no way he could fight against anyone like this, but he refused to stay behind this time. I couldn’t deny his request after promising he could come with us, so we made do with how slowly he needed to go.
