Leon was stunned. He had seen her wear beautiful dresses but this one was different. She looked more mature. She looked like the Queen and he noticed how everyone stopped to look at her with so much respect. Excusing himself from the men, he walked over to where she stood with Cali and smiled at her. "Lillith, you look stunning today. Different," A blush crept up her cheek and she smiled. "Thank you." Stretching out his arms, he offered. "May I lead you to your carriage?" She nodded and slipped her hand into his. He kissed the back of her hand and smiled at her before leading her out of the palace. Cali followed behind them with a smile. "I heard you were invited by the elite women of Red Lily Pack for an afternoon date with them?" She nodded. "Came as a surprise. I thought they all hated me." "Are you nervous?" He asked as he watched her countenance. She shrugged. "I really can't tell if it's me just being nervous or if I don't want to be there."
Melissa clenched her fists as she watched Leon walk away from her. He pulled the door open and banged it shut before exiting the room. She hit the bottle of wine and it crashed to the ground along with the glass cup and by the time she was done, everywhere was a mesa. She didn't care about messing up everywhere. All she wanted to do was destroy everything. He didn't want her so what was the need. She began to pace about the room. She was consumed by anger and hate. So much hate directed at Lillith for showing up when she was almost close to becoming Queen. She had come with that little bastard and she had successfully taken her place. Closing her eyes, she tried to calm herself down before She started to map out a plan. Since poisoning Lillith hadn't worked, she decided to devise another plan. A sinister smile crept up her face as she thought about her plans. Things were going to fall in place. That she was sure of. With a smile, she walked out of the room. The p
The nurse stared at her for a while. She had never seen this woman. She had been instructed by Cali not to let anyone in so this woman here, talking about being best friends with Lillith, was confused. She looked at Henry. He was crying and she needed to get him a few things outside the room that she had forgotten to get. She couldn't leave him here and she also couldn't call a maid to look after the child. Seeing this woman saying that she was close to the mother of the child gave her a bit of relief. She nodded. "I was going to get something anyway. Can you help me look after him? I'll be back in fifteen minutes." Melissa nodded and walked over to the bed. She made a show of cradling the child in her hand and singing softly to him. "Don't worry about that. He loves me carrying him. He's going to be asleep in no time." The lady nodded and picked a basket before leaving the room. She spoke to the guard for a few moments before finally leaving. The guard poked h
Lillith found Cali seated on one of the stone chairs in the garden. A Cheshire cat had climbed into her lap and she stroked it softly as she said things to it. Lillith wondered how a woman as soft as this was a soldier and her guard from evil. She guessed she hadn't seen that side of her yet. She pushed forward, ignoring Ginevra's words and hating that the woman was even following behind her. But there was nothing she could do. Cali raised her head to see both women coming towards her and stood to her feet immediately, letting the Cheshire cat walk away. She cleared her throat. "How may I help you ladies?" She asked in the politest tone ever. Lillith set the platter on the space beside her and took a seat. "I got this for you." Cali looked from Lillith to the plate beside her to Ginevra who was watching them. "Ohh." "I'm not going to say a word to anyone," Ginevra said and raised her hand. She must have noticed that she wasn't really welcome here. "I'
Leon paced about in his room as the doctor checked on the little baby. After everything, he had carried Henry to his room and when the doctor arrived, he wasn't even ready to hear anything. He went to work. "How's he doing?" Leon asked when the doctor finally leaned away and pulled his stethoscope. "He's going to be sick for a few days and that's because he inhaled the poison. He's going to be coughing also. I'm glad he didn't inhale it too much to cause lung damage. He's going to have a few bruises there which is quite extreme but he's a strong child. He's going to pull through. I have a syrup which I'll give to you. He'll be taking it every morning and night to relieve the cough if it finally happens." Leon closed his eyes and sighed in relief. But it wasn't a full relief. He wasn't sure he could watch his son cough. And how was Lillith going to feel if she found out her son had been almost poisoned just as she? "Where is his mother?" "She'll be back soon. Do
Lillith pushed past one of the guards standing by the door leading to the dungeon. She didn't even bother listening to him as all she was concerned about was Melissa. It didn't matter if it was going to take her to tear down the cage to bring her out and humiliate her. She wanted to do it. She saw no reason why Melissa would come for her child. She walked down the stone-walled corridor, not minding if it was dark until she found a familiar body seated on the floor with her head between her legs. Lillith stopped in front of the fire and stared at Melissa for a long time. Her stare was filled with so much hatred and angst and when Melissa finally raised her head to look at her, she hissed. Melissa leaned against the wall with a smile on her face. "You're here. I was expecting to see you. I thought you had no guts," "But you had the guts to attack my son, didn't you?" Melissa laughed. "That was a failed attempt and I regret it. I should have done better, you kn
He watched as she pushed the door open and walked into the room. Her expression gave nothing away. She stood in front of him and watched him before clearing her throat the speak. "The doctor came already. He gave me a syrup for Henry and said he's going to be fine in a few weeks. I came to tell you because you were there when he was around." Leon nodded. "Thank you for informing me." She was about to turn away from him when he cleared his throat. "Can you come sit with me for a while?" She stopped. "You want us to talk about something?" He smiled. "No." Then walked towards the furniture in front of him. He picked a two wine glasses and popped the bottle of wine before him open. He filled both cups and picked them up before walking over to her and handing one over to him. She took it from him and stared down at the drink. "Is there some sort of celebration that I don't know going on?" He shook his head and turned away from her. "Not at all. I just want to spen
"Can you at least let me go? Now that you have successfully taken me out of the dungeon?" Lillith said as she tried to pull her hand off him. They were standing at the base of the steps and he released her before glaring down at her. "I told you I was going to take care of her." "I want to do it myself. The whole time, I've been taking care of things. Why don't you let me fucking continue?" "Because I am in charge now. I want to be in charge. Henry is sick and we need to focus on him!" His voice softened and he touched her face. "I understand how angry you are. So am I. I know you want her to pay for everything she has done but trust me, I will make sure she does. We just need to focus on our son first. He's sick and that's all that matters." Tears spilled out of Lillith's eyes. She couldn't even control herself this time. She cried her heart out. Leon pulled her into him and she tried to pull away but his hold around her was strong. "Leon, things haven't been e
