Chapter 01

I, Alexander rejects you Melissa as my mate, and Luna. I never want to see your face again, you betrayer!"

These words came out from Alexander's mouth with bloody and swollen eyes. He couldn't believe the evidence that was standing right in front of him. His mate Melissa had been accused of cheating on him.

Alexander would never have believed it, but the evidence was standing right in front of him. The man who had laid with his mate.

"Throw her out." He commanded and turned his back completely at her.

Melissa watched him with pain in her heart. She couldn't believe he would ever think of her as a whore because she was sure Alexander loved her with all of his heart.

She had thought he would trust her and hear from her first before rejecting her.

"Alex, how can you do this to me? Do you believe them? Do you believe what they said to you?"

Alex had wanted to say something, but he kept quiet because he didn't want to see her. The humiliation she had caused him by sleeping with a beta was so hurtful.

"I'm never going to forgive you! I swear I'm never going to forgive you for doing this to me." Melissa yelled repeatedly as she was being dragged out, and suddenly, the gates closed on her.

She remained on the floor, staring up at the sky. The rain would begin to pour sooner or later and she had nowhere to go. She was three weeks pregnant for Alexander, and she had wanted to keep it a secret until his birthday which was in two weeks time just to surprise him.

She stared down at her stomach, more tears rolling down her eyes. If someone had told her that Alexander would have treated her this way, Melissa would spit on their faces and tell them to go to hell.

She couldn't stand up on her feet because even though she wanted to hate him for what he had just done, she still waited for him to come back and apologise.

After waiting for three hours without bulging, Melissa knew he wasn't going to come. She rose up on her feet, but fell down back because her legs were numb.

"I'm so sorry baby. You don't deserve to be treated this way. I did nothing, I swear I did nothing of what they're all accusing me of." Melissa said, rubbing her stomach again.

She could leave with the pain, but her baby would grow up without a father. Melissa never grew up with a father because her father had abandoned her mother when she was born, and her mother had died when she was 5 because she couldn't take the pains of rejection.

The thought of being like her mother scared her to death, but Melissa was stronger. She was going to be there for this baby, and raise it in the best way being both a father and a mother to her child.

While she was on the ground, she made a promise to herself. She was never going to allow him to set eyes on her baby.

A few minutes later, she finally rose up on her feet and began walking away. She was never going to return back no matter how life turns out to be hard on her. She did nothing wrong, so she would never beg.

As Melissa continued walking, her stomach grumbled, and the thought of dying on the streets made her so scared. She was so hungry.

She held her stomach, and rubbed it.

"I'll feed you soon enough, please be patient." Melissa begged.

Her legs were tired and weak, and her entire body felt so numb. There was no place to sleep tonight, and she was certain the city was filled with bad men who could maybe hurt her or even rape her.

She heaved deeply, taking a pause at a local restaurant. She gulped down a lump of saliva as she saw people feeding from their hamburgers, while others were eating chicken. She could only salivate and stare at them hungrily.

Her stomach grumbled again, this time so loud, that it made her think her stomach could also feel the presence of the food too.

"Get out of here you beggar." A man yelled at her.

It was so humiliating, but the thought of going hungry for the entire night scared the hell out of her.

She completely ignored the man and began walking into the restaurant. Her face was looking so pale and pitiful. When she saw the owner of the restaurant cleaning the table at one corner, she began walking towards her, ignoring the faces of people who were staring at her.

The woman raised her head high when she saw Melissa.

"What do you want? If you've come to beg for money, then I have none." The lady replied harshly. Tonight wasn't just Melissa's lucky day. She had been humiliated enough, but she wasn't going to give up for the sake of her stomach.

"Please. I have no money."

"You look like a married and rich woman. You even have a ring on your finger, and it's a diamond ring." The lady yelled.

Melissa stared down at her ring.

"If you want food and money, don't you think you should give something in exchange?" The lady said, sounding so greedy.

There was no possible way Melissa could sell the ring on her finger. It was the last memory she had of her mother, and she couldn't let it go.

"No. Not this. I can't sell this to you. Tell me what else you want and I'll sell it."

"Get away from here. You aren't hungry. If you don't wanna sell it to you, then I won't give you anything."

Melissa instantly went on her knees to plead with the woman but a few minutes later, she was thrown out of the restaurant with force.

"Don't show your filthy face here you gold digger." The lady yelled. Tears slid down her eyes. Why was the world being so harsh to her? Did she commit a crime in her previous life or something?

She continued walking without knowing where she was heading too.

Suddenly, Melissa began feeling so dizzy. She had wanted to hold the hunger in, but it seemed impossible.

"Please, not now. I'm begging you."

Her vision slowly became blurry and she found it hard to walk further. Her legs were weak and wobbly, making matters worse.

"H..help me." Melissa said with a faded voice when she saw a man running towards her. She immediately fell on the floor, but was still staring at him. She wondered if he was really coming towards her, and if he wanted to save her.

So there was someone who

really cared in the world?

With one heavy breathe, she shut her eyes slid into darkness
