EVANORA’S POV

I spent close to an extra hour talking with my dad about the most random things and I figured we had more in common than I’d ever imagined.

He had an awful sense of humor that matched mine as we cracked jokes and laughed at intervals. It was so fun it made me wonder how I’d spent so long not knowing that side of him.

"We should head back home,” he finally said to me. “We’ve spent more than enough time outside the palace, don’t you think?”

“Mhm mhm, I guess so,” I replied, rising to my feet after watching him do the same. “We should go.”

He nodded and led the way, turning and walking in the direction only familiar to him. Our walk was silent as he focused on navigating his way out of the forest while I focused on a totally different issue.
