EVANORA'S POV

I didn't need to wait for much longer before I spotted him walking towards our spot, looking as dashing as ever.

I immediately rose to my feet, my gaze stretching to meet his as I smiled.

I returned the smile and as I did, but it was a sad smile. I watched him walk toward me with even quicker steps. As he was only a few meters away from me, he stretched his arms to pull me closer to him, getting rid of the distance between us with a hug.

"Evanora," he kissed my hair as he hugged me tightly. "I was so worried."

I had about a dozen questions but instead, remained silent for the meanwhile, hugging him back and feeling the comfort of his arms. We remained in that position for a while before pulling away, his hands leaving my waist to cup my face.

He looked directly into my eyes and I could see the worry he spoke about in them. He looked genuinely worried as he stared at me, making me feel delicate and precious.

"Are you okay?" I let out. "Did something happen?"
