"Princess Evanora."

I froze as I heard my name get called. I was referred to as princess only by my father and the people who worked at the l palace.

No, no.

My breathing doubled and I feared turning to face who called me. I grabbed the hem of my dress, taking deep inhales and exhales at intervals.

I had gotten into trouble and I knew it. My palms quickly became damp as I refused to move or even utter a single word in response.

"Princess Evanora."

The voice had become clearer as whoever it was had moved even closer to me. I could literally feel him right behind me and as I shut my eyes, I immediately recognized the voice.

My eyes flew open as I turned. I was right. It was him.

"Matthew," I breathed out, watching him stare at me. He was dressed differently and he looked exactly like the guards I'd spotted patrolling the woods.

"Princess Evanora," he repeated, this time with a light bow. "What are you doing here?"

"H-how are y-you here?" I tried to say but it came out in a stammer. "W-w
