Upon arriving at the hotel, Jade sat on the bed and felt annoyed. She looked at her cellphone and she hadn’t even received a message since that morning. The annoyance she felt only increased.

“You’re still pretending not to be interested and angry when he calls you.” She was scolding herself.

“Huh, I’m not upset now because he hasn’t shown any signs all day!” She felt disappointed.

“Goodness, you’re still denying it? Remember that he has someone following you to ensure your safety.” Even her crippled mind teased itself.

“Urgh, I don’t care if he never calls again!” she exclaimed at the same time. She was about to enter the bathroom when someone knocked.

“Ma’am, are you all right there?”

Jade recognized the man’s voice. She didn’t know that he was still there outside her room. “Yes, I am. Go back to your room.”
