CHAPTER 42

After her words the room soon fell into a thick silence. She stared him down as though she was trying to tell if he was being real. After a moment he broke his gaze away from her own.

He looked as though there was something he wanted to say but he refrained himself from saying anything. He looked at her as though he were staring at her longingly for a moment longer before he let out a sigh and walked past her. He stopped at the door and he turned back to then look at her through the corner of his eyes.

“I will be downstairs.” He said and that was the only words that dared to come out of his mouth. She watched him walk out of the door as the door slammed shut and the sound echoed loudly through the room. She flinched instinctively at the sound as she breathed deeply.

She wasn't going to allow herself to cry. She didn't know what she had been expecting but an apology was the least of it.
