CHAPTER 40: THE GRAYSON WITCHES

Lying on her bed, she gazed at the ceiling and heaved a sigh as she clutched the pillow on her chest. It had been weeks since she had not seen her brother and she didn't care about what happened to Colby after her magic kicked in and she used it on him. She still cared about him, but she wanted to isolate herself from everyone. All of her friends. She just needed to be on her own. She even had to quit her job so that she could get the space she deserved but she was perturbed because she had been having dreams about the same book she saw in the endless hallway. Amaya wished her brother was here to help her. It was her fault, she could have listened to Marissa. ‘Never trust a vampire.’ Those were her words. She pulled the blankets up as tears rolled down her cheeks and closed her eyes hoping to drift into a deep sleep.

Opening her eyes, she found herself amid the darkness. She couldn't define how she got here, but she was glad that she saw a flicker of light in the emptiness. This time
