Chapter 5

AUTHOR’S POV

It was already the sixth day since Aileen began her transformation, today, she woke up from her slumber and the last part of her transformation began. Aileen opened her mouth to scream, however, she could not. Her breath had been knocked out of her. Aileen’s skin stretched and rippled, as though it were a canvas being violently stretched and painted anew. Her bones cracked and shifted beneath her flesh, producing sickening, bone chilling sounds. She gasped for breath, her lungs struggling to adapt to the changing shape of her ribcage.

Her open and once human eyes burned with a cold intensity as they transformed between icy blue and silver, and matured into the predatory orbs of a fully matured werewolf. Clumps of hair fell to the ground as soon as they grew, and was replaced by a thick pelt of fur that sprouted from her skin. Each strand erupted like hot needles piercing her flesh.

Aileen’s howls of pain filled the room, and droplets of sweat mixed with crimson beads of blood dropped onto the bed she was laying on. Joshua stood right beside her and his aura lessened the pain a little, they were both within the protection of a barrier while Xander and Ryan stood outside, worried.

They had found out that she had a seal on her body and it intensified the agony, making it a torment that she had ever endured. But through it all, a primal force welled up inside of her, an unquenchable thirst for power and freedom. Her jaws elongated, teeth growing into razor sharp fangs that gnashed together. Her limbs contorted and stretched, her fingers and toes elongating into clawed appendages.

Finally, with one last bone shattering scream, Aileen stood as a towering, fully transformed werewolf. Her fur was silver, like the moon and it shone with such purity that could not be tainted; her eyes glowing with an otherworldly intensity glistened with tears of pain and defiance. The seal had tested her limits, but it failed to extinguish the wild spirit that raged within her. One she did not know that she had.

Four painful days had passed and a new powerful entity was born. The Luna of the clan, a powerful wolf who would control her subject with amazing elegance, Aileen raised her head and howled into the dark night sky. The moon glowed brightly, it resonated with her.

AILEEN’S POV

It was dark; darkness was all I could see. I was alone in this huge space, I could not hear any sound, nor could I even hear my own breathing. If I stayed here for a while, I might so insane. I have been in this darkness for three days; or was it three days? I could not tell if a day has gone or if I am correct, I just kept counting and counting in my head, it was the only thing I could do in this space. I would wait for someone to save me.

It has been six days since I had been in this abyss and slowly, it felt like I saw the light coming closer and closer to me. At first, I thought that if I ran, I would be able to get to the light but matter how much I ran; I could never seem to reach the light, so I just waited for the light to come to me and gradually, it did.

Today was the tenth day and it was finally right in front of me, ready for me to enter. I smiled and reached out to touch the light and when my fingertips touched the surface of the light, it rippled, as if it was water and it sucked me in. I didn’t resist it; the light was warm and welcoming. It engulfed me and the pain all left all my body, I was light and finally free from the pain.

JOSHUA’S POV

“Ugh…” I pressed my lips together in pain as my head throbbed. I had a huge headache; it felt like someone threw a ton of bricks on my head. I opened my eyes slowly to stare at Aileen who was laid on the bed, her eyes closed and her face peaceful. A few days ago, she was crying and begging for the pain to stop then after a while, she didn’t cry anymore but her brows were furrowed but now, she looked peaceful.

“Master Joshua, you should go to sleep. You haven’t slept for one week now and even though you are not human, it could still take its toll on you.” Ryan scolded me and I scoffed, Xander crossed his arms and nodded as well, “You look awful, look at the dark circles and your eyes have gone a shade darker which shows that you are very tired.”

“Easy for you to say, you look way worse than I do. If anyone saw you, they would think you were her mate instead.” I glanced at Xander who shrank back. It was funny but I was jealous, jealous that Xander seemed to have gotten closer with my mate. If he wasn’t my friend, perhaps I would have thrown him to Galgatho for the wolves to eat him.

I coughed the thought out of my mind and stared at the sleeping Aileen, “Why do you think her powers were sealed in like that? It was an ancient seal and it cause her so much pain, do you have any idea what kind of seal it is, Ryan?” I asked the butler who shook his head.

“There are a lot of seals who look very much like this one and each of those seals are mainly for sealing the power of a traitor, it is more like a brand for traitors, and seals for beginners of black magic, there are also purification spells with this kind of rune embedded in it, however, I have never seen one like this. But the intent was clear, it was drawn on her to seal her powers and from what we have seen, it is a good thing.”
