Raven's Point of View
I had just gotten out of bed, and it was the first day that I didn't have to rush around for school. Graduation is over, and now I enter a new phase of my life. I'm 20 years old and recently graduated from college with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management.
I was the eldest of Mr. and Mrs. Adelina and Lucas Reeves' two children.
Rane, my spoiled brat brother, is one of my siblings. Maybe it's because we adore him so much.
"Good morning, Raven, so what are you up to today?" my mother inquired.
I was raised in a modest and moderate manner. We are not wealthy, but we have enough to eat three times a day or whenever we want. We can go out for family gatherings as well as family dates. My father was a government employee, and my mother was a teacher, but she retired because dad was already taking care of our finances, and now that I am finished with college, I can also assist them.
My younger brother is a third-year college student, and I need to prioritize him.
"Rest for a while, Mom, and maybe this afternoon I'll get my resume ready for job hunting," I said.
She looked at me as if she was about to say something. I can read her mind, and I know she doesn't want to hear it again.
"Job hunting, or you'll just go out and meet your boyfriend... you know, Raven, I don't understand why you stick with that guy."
" Mom said, as she always does when I talk to her in the morning.
"Here we go again, mom!" When are you going to stop demeaning Zeb? He was just trying his hardest to please you and your father. He's not doing anything wrong, believe me. " As Zebastian's girlfriend, I feel obligated to defend him."
"He doesn't need to try it again and again, Raven; the answer will always be no!" We will not allow you to enter that man's world. You won't have a bright future with him. Take a look at him. He can't even afford new clothes, despite the fact that he has a job. I can't imagine how much he makes per day! " Mom explained.
Zeb was assisting his father in their car shop. Since he graduated from college, that has been his chosen field. He's 22 and two years older than me. I just don't understand why he refuses to look for a good job. I wanted to ask him, but I am sensitive enough to understand how someone feels when they see you looking helpless.
"That's what he wanted to do, mom! That shop means so much to him, and I can't do anything if he wanted to stay and work there." "Please mom, I know Zeb has plans as well; perhaps he was just trying to earn some money, and..."
"Raven, I have my doubts.
What? Maybe he was just waiting for you to get a job so he could sit back and wait for you. Stay away from him before it's too late. He won't give you anything in the future. Why not just choose Axel? "Mom said, and it's been a month since she's been working on Axel.Axel came from a well-known family in our neighborhood. He was born into a wealthy family. He is the only son and runs his own company.
"Mom, Axel is not the type of guy who will like me; his kind has standards, and I know that's not going to be me. Don't aim for the stars, mom; I love Zeb, and..."
"Look at his family! They can't even ask you to visit their house and offer you something; why? They don't have anything to offer, so what they earn is just enough for them!" "Love will not feed you all your life, Raven! Don't give me that shit because it won't work. Look at his family! They can't even ask you to visit their house and offer you something; why? They don't have anything to offer, so what they earn is just enough for them!"
My mother's message was heartbreaking. I understand that she wanted to see me prosper and succeed, but why should she underestimate Zeb's abilities?
I can't think of anything else to say in Zeb's defense. My mother was correct, but I can see why Zeb values their business so much. He finished college because of it. because of his father's tireless efforts in that junk shop I can see how much he values his heritage, which my parents couldn't see.
"Mom, I just want you to know how much Zeb values his father's sacrifices; that car shop was the reason he was able to finish college, and that means so much to him; not every child in this world has had the opportunity to go to college, and for Zeb, that was a great achievement."
"Achievements will not be possible until you earn money from them, Raven. You study, you will look for a decent job and earn.. build a house.. but things that you needed and wanted. That is achievement, and Zeb doesn't have that. That doesn't make him man enough to be called successful. So stop defending your boyfriend, because he will always be nothing to us." Mom said, and she looked at Zeb.
I had no choice but to look at the table where breakfast was waiting for me.
"Hey sis, what a bad morning for you, I heard," Rane exclaimed.
He's finished his bath, as usual, and is eager to see his friends. What should you expect from a spoiled brat on vacation?
"You mentioned it..."
"Don't worry, mom; as long as you're happy, just keep going," he said, winking at me.
"You don't have to be that way all the time; one more year and you'll be done with school, so you better take it seriously; life isn't like kindergarten, Rane; be serious at times."
"Hey! I know! I was just enjoying vacation, okay? Don't worry; when school starts, I'll focus on it. I know what's been going through your head, so don't panic. I got you, sissy!" He said as he hugged me tightly.
That's what makes him so endearing. He motivates me to look for work as soon as possible. I know it won't be easy, but I was confident that it would be worthwhile.
Raven's point of view"What are you doing here?" Zeb was surprised when she looked up and saw me in front of him.He wasn't expecting me to pay him a visit at their shop."Well, I just had a thought and dropped it here before going to do something important this morning, and seeing the love of my life is somehow important to me," I giggled, staring at him.He blushed .. "Wow! I'm sorry I won't be able to attend...""It's okay, love! I know and I see how busy you are, don't worry, my friends will come to pick me up," I said."What? As in here at the shop? But love...—""Why? There's nothing wrong with it, okay?"Now I know what he was thinking. I'm sure he's aware of how my friends degrade him when he's with me. How much more if they come and pick me up at the shop they despise the most?He stood up and turned to face me. The dirt on his hands has never stopped me from hugging and kissing him."I'm so filthy, love."He tried to distance himself from me, but the closer I get to him, th
Raven's Point of ViewZeb was correct.Lexi and Neri, my friends, did not come to pick me up. It's no longer surprising to me. They promised themselves, especially Lexi, that they would not enter that place. More likely, a junkyard where all the old cars were dumped."I love you, thank you for the ride; sorry, I know you don't feel good about it, but you can get out of your car and talk to my friends; I want them to know you drove me here and you are responsible enough," I said to alleviate disappointment.I thanked God because he did. At the very least, I know he's not mad at me."Hello girls.. sorry for being late, I just had to drop by at -""At Zebastian's old car shop?" she asked, her smile wicked."Lexi, shut up!" Neri attempted to silence Lexi.Zeb pretended he hadn't heard anything."Hello, Zeb. Thank you for bringing Raven here. Lexi was just too lazy to drive a car, so we'll have to wait here," Neri explained."It's my pleasure, Neri. Anyway, I won't be long. I have more thi
Raven's point of view"Cheers! to a successful day. Finally, we are employed at TEMPO, so we will be wearing this uniform starting on Monday," Lexi exclaimed as she flexed her uniform in front of me and Neri. They are both excited amd I van see it in theor eyes.. while I was nervous and uneasy.. Neri smiled at me quietly. She knows how much Lexi enjoyed working at TEMPO. Who wouldn't, after all? It is the largest automobile manufacturer and, in fact, the best option for any wealthy individual."Can you imagine how your life will be if you ever give Axel a chance in your heart? You will be a queen, and you will live life to the fullest. Every girls will look up in you and do everything just to please you..— If I were you, I would start planning how you will break up with Zeb. We can help you if you want," Lexi said seriously."Lexi, will you please stop? That was so awkward! Please be sensitive to how Raven would feel! We hired there to work for our assigned job and not to flirt with
Zebastian's point of view...We were driving to Raven's house. I was supposed to take her on a date, but I got bored. I'm referring to what I heard earlier. Why TEMPO, of all companies in the world? That was a major affront on my part.I'm aware that Raven's family does not think I'm the right man for her. They have seen me as the person I am now, working in my father's old car shop. Raven didn't expect me to waste my time and knowledge working in my father's shop, which is no longer the case.I understand how Raven's friends perceive me; I know and understand that they want Raven to have a successful and comfortable life, and I admit that I can't provide that for her right now.I took a deep breath, knowing Raven would eventually decide to leave me. I know it will hurt, but I need to go through all of this. I need to know what she can do to demonstrate her patience and love for me."That was too deep, love; is there any problem?" she asked abruptly when she noticed I wasn't saying an
Raven's Point of ViewDays, weeks, and months went by. I've been enjoying my work. I used to work as a cashier in the sales department. I enjoyed entertaining the very wealthy. I liked working there because I got a commission on top of my monthly salary when someone bought a car. That was a big help for me.I also offered to assist Zeb in renovating their shop, but he declined. I don't understand, and I was becoming increasingly irritated by his recent behavior.I didn't expect him to refuse my assistance."Hi!"When I heard someone speaking behind me, I was taken aback. When I turned around, it was Axel, my boss."Sir!""No, sir! We've already left the company, and it's past office hours, so just call me Axel, okay?" He smiled at me."All right, Axel," I said. I was extremely shy and uneasy. Zeb will be there shortly to pick me up."Are you going home alone?" he inquired."Yes sir, Zeb is going to pick me up; I was just waiting for him," I politely replied."Okay, but here's some adv
Zebastian's point of viewI felt like I had experienced everything bad in life as she turned her back on me. I tried to catch up with her, but she was gone. I'm not sure why it has to happen. Why did she give up so easily, making me feel less than who I am now?My eyes welled up with tears, and I could feel my body weakening. I couldn't get myself out of my chair. I can't even look around because there's nothing visible. Because of the tears in my eyes, my vision became blurry.Until I felt someone assist me in standing up It was FatherHe hugged me tightly, and I could feel his heart racing. I turned to face him, and he held my gaze. He put his hand on my shoulder and offered me a glass of water.I bowed my head as I placed the glass of water beside the couch on the table."To avoid dehydration," he explained as he sat in front of me. "I heard everything, from the beginning to the end. I felt the pain, son, and it took me almost an hour to think of a word that I have to say just to m
Zebastian's Pov"Raven—."Raven can't even look at me. I missed her, and I was expecting her to hug me, or if not, even just to stare at me and tell me that she missed me too."Raven, can we talk? I know things weren't that good for the past few days. You asked for freedom, and I have given it to you, thinking that it will make you feel comfortable in your job and in achieving your dreams. I love you, that is why I didn't stop you from doing what makes you happy! But why? Of all people, Raven? It's been Axel all along.. it's been Axel who is the real reason why you broke up with me. Why? Am I not enough?" I had the courage to ask her that stupid question, though I already knew the painful answer.Raven took a deep breath. She changed a lot. I can no longer see that woman whom I loved before. The woman who used to look at me with so much love All I can see now is a woman who has a cold heart. a woman who doesn't want me in her life."Zeb, you should not be here. We already talked abou
Raven's POVMy conscience just doesn't give me peace of mind. It's been a week since Zeb came and made a scene in front of our house. And it's been a week since Axel didn't show up. Yeah, I remember. He's out of town, and maybe he made sure that Zeb wouldn't be able to come and disturb me before he came back. While I was standing in the backyard...I saw a car parked in front of the gate. And when the door opened, it was none other than Axel."Hi babe, how are you?" He asked like nothing happened. He kissed me on my cheeks, and he gave me his presents. I know it's something from Europe. He always does that. Every time he has a trip abroad, he never forgets to buy something for me and my family."I'm okay. How about you?" I asked, well, actually, that is not exactly what I wanted to ask."Well and good. I closed the deal, and everything went well. Right after the wedding, we will go to Europe and maybe spend the honeymoon there. Or if you want, we can stay there for good.. to be far fr
