Chapter Forty Seven

"What's wrong, son?" Rohan asked Vikrant as he kept playing with his food. Amalia and the twins were discharged today and he'd brought them home which Vikrant had been happy about a few hours ago but his mood suddenly changed after the twins went to sleep and that worried Rohan.

"Can I talk to you after dinner, dad?" He asked. "It's important."

"Sure." Rohan nodded.

"The food is really delicious but I can't eat anymore." Amalia smiled apologetically. "The cook won't be upset, right?"

"No, she won't." Rohan assured her.

"Thank you for the meal." She said.

"You don't have to thank me. You're free to do whatever the hell you want here." He told her. "It's your house too."

Tears pooled in her eyes and a single tear dropped, making her laugh shortly and wipe it away.

"I'm such a crybaby nowadays." She muttered.

"Like I said, you're free to do anything you want." He grinned at her.
