Chapter Forty

Sarita's steps faltered as she looked down the hallway and saw Vikrant leaning against his locker door with his headphones on and his phone in his hands looking like he didn't have a care in the world which she knew was just a façade.

Kalyani was still mumbling beside her as she'd been doing since they missed the school bus because Sarita wanted to get coffee from Barney's and it was one she'd refused to drink.

"Don't tell me you want to extend an olive branch to him?" Kaly gaped at her when she finally realized who she was looking at.

"Is that going to be a problem?" Sarita walked ahead.

"No, but didn't you say you won't bother him anymore since he's the one that cut all ties with you?" Kaly asked.
