Chapter 12: Define Friend

Arriving at Bay International Academy, Alana was feeling apprehensive. She was biting her lip and frequently playing with her hair.

The second the luxury car parked at the side of the school gates, she saw one of Kai’s classmates, Rob. His mother, Heather, was also there with him. She sucked in a breath, realizing her worries were real. She really did not like Heather. 

Rob and Kai were friends, but Rob’s mother was spiteful. She had always looked down on Kai for being an illegitimate child, and an unwealthy one at that. It worried her how Alric would react to Heather’s curt remarks. 

“Daddy, let’s go. Let me introduce you to my friend,” Kai said, while grabbing Alric’s wrist. Dean already opened the car, and the boy was ready to meet his friend.
