Chapter 30

Ava's POV

My eyes snapped open, and my body bolted up from the bed at the heavy knocks like metal on the door.

When whoever was there wouldn't stop and I looked outside to see that it wasn't fully morning yet, I hurried to it and opened the entrance.

Then, I saw Lucy. She had heavy beads of sweat on her face, striking down her face, and her clothes were almost all wet from the fact that she ran here.

Anyone could assume that. She looked like she had seen a ghost.

"First of all, you're at my doorstep, so stop panting like a dog, or better yet, stick out your tongue and become one. Perhaps I might buy you." Then, rolling my eyes, I went serious. "What happened?"

"I've got some news." She said and wanted to walk inside, but I gave a "uh-ho" sound and held out my hand.

"Where do you think you're rushing into? Calm yourself." I commanded and then allowed her inside after she had cleaned her sweats and all.
