Chapter 127

MATILDA'S POV

I managed to stand up on my feet after crying my eyes out. I needed to stop being weak.

I started pacing around the hospital room with my weak leg, limping.

The door suddenly opened, and I thought it was Grandmother coming back into the room. I turned around to see Eva with a droopy body.

"Matilda!" she cried. Her lip quivered as she ran towards me, wrapping her hands around my body.

We both hugged each other tightly and cried on each other's shoulders.

"How are you doing, Matilda? Thank Goddess you are finally awake." She said, as she disengaged from the hug and looked all over my body, her bottom lip jutting out.

She burst into tears as she looked all over my body.

"I'm so sorry, Matilda." She said, sobbing again. "It's all my fault that all of these happened to you. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me."

Her hand was on my waist, and she slowly led me to the bed and made me sit on the bed while looking at my weak leg.
