MATILDA'S POV

I gently stood up from the bed and started walking away from the room out of fear of what he might do to me for disobeying him and leaving my room without his permission.

I was about to walk out of the room when he held me by the hand and stopped me.

I was scared when he held my hand, thinking that he probably wanted to punish me for disobeying him.

I stopped in my tracks and looked into his face in fear.

He looked into my eyes for some time, and then he let go of my hand, which surprised me.

I was even more surprised when he whispered some words to me.

At first, I was not sure what the words he had said were, but as I walked out of the room, the words registered in my head.

Did he just thank me? I knew I had saved his grandmother, and deserved some accolades. But I was also surprised that a man like Alpha Moses would even say thank you to a girl like me.
