ALPHA REXPAST♣️♣️♣️“Rex, do you want to help mummy grow some flowers?” I was in my room, playing with my toys when I heard my mother say that. She was standing by the opened door of my room, peering down at me with a bright smile on her face. I stood on my small feet instantly, tossing my toys away and racing over to her. She hugged me from where I reached by her legs. Since I noticed the shift in the atmosphere of our home, especially between my parents as my illness became the basis of all of their arguments, I took every opportunity to be with my mother. “C’mon, let’s go.”She held my little hands in hers and led me out of the house. We reached a big glass house that I saw some pack workers building a few weeks ago. Then, I didn’t understand what they were making and even now, I still didn’t know but it was complete and probably meant something to my mother because of the way her eyes brightened at the sight of it.“Are we going to plant the flowers here?” I asked innocently.
L’s POV*THURSDAY, 4th of April**Mason’s birthday.” “The candles are melting, Luna.” Mason’s first word was Luna. While other pups in their first few years started out saying “Dada” or “mama”, my brother’s first word as a baby was my name and even though he didn’t get it correctly, it stuck and he never outgrew it. I remember the first time he said it, I was in the kitchen, cooking us a meal from what was left of the foodstuff in our house and he had fallen on his face while trying to come to me.He’d cried the name repeatedly as I came to his aid. I didn’t understand until later that the word that left his mouth was the version of my name that he could say. I tried to correct him repeatedly but he never budged. It became his personal nickname for me. Now he was celebrating his twelfth birthday and my baby brother was just the same, only a little apprehensive because of the waiting he had to do.His small birthday cake that I’d whipped up quickly that morning before going to work
EUDORA.“You’re hiding something, aren’t you?” I paled and snapped my head up from a random book I was reading on Zena’s bed. She was perched in the middle of her bed, her brows raised skeptically. “Hm?” I thinned my lips. “You’re hiding something.”I heard her the first time. I was just hit by the suddenness of her question when all we’ve been doing was reading and exchanging a few words. However, I couldn’t deny the fact that I could barely focus on the book I was reading and only pretended to be so immersed in it so I wouldn’t have to look at Zena and have her tell something was wrong without even seeing me.“No, of course not.” I finally answered after a few seconds of contemplating what the best answer to give Zena would be. I tried to keep my voice steady and also forced a smile. She didn’t seem convinced as her expression still doesn’t change.“I don’t believe you.” She said.I tried to be as convincing as I could, giving her my full attention. “Why? What do you think I’m h
EUDORA. Time seemed to still for a second or maybe more. I wasn’t even counting. I couldn’t. Not with the body that was weighing down on mine and the way my thought was spiraling around how it was possible for him to be there. When I finally snapped out of it, I pushed him off me and he landed on the floor with a loud thud. My palm flew to my mouth in horror, maybe because I didn’t expect him to just roll to the ground like that like a sack of potatoes. Horrified, I nudged his body with my foot, keeping a reasonable distance in case things went sideways. “Alpha Rex.” I called, still maintaining the much needed distance between us. I nudged him once, twice and the third time, he rolled over and I jumped back. A loud snore erupted from his lips. He reeked of alcohol and passed out cold on the floor of the room. I let out a sigh of relief when I realized he wasn’t conscious. That was the only time I was able to gather my thoughts. I needed to think it through to be able to understa
ALPHA REXPAST♣️♣️♣️I was dying…again.Fighting for air on the bed I was strapped to. Sweating profusely and seeing my miserable life flash before my eyes. How many times has it been now? Was it the fifth time? I couldn’t tell. I already lost count of the number of times I’ve been close to dying after the first time it happened. All I knew was that each time is always worse than the last, so horrible that I hoped for death instead of the torture I was subjected to.Yes, I hoped for death. It was strange because I didn’t want to die just yet, not without finding out the secrets that were more important to my mother than I was but as it happened frequently, I hoped for death more and more. As always, the damned scientist wasn’t there. Whenever this happens, he is never around and the times he is, he would only watch me, doing absolutely nothing until I can finally breathe again. It suddenly began to feel like it was intentional. Like he was testing how far I could go and how strong
ALPHA REX. Till I travelled down to the borders of my pack, I strongly believed Logan was mistaken. It was the most bizarre news I’ve heard and I needed to see for myself. Logan was already waiting at the borders with a few of my men, including Tyrone. They showed their respect as soon as they saw me but I pushed past them, not wanting to waste another second. Logan followed closely behind me as I trudged forward, going past the fog that protects my pack and stepping onto the other side of it. The body laid there on the ground and the familiar wrinkled face of Alpha Tauren was a bluish-purple—undoubtedly a sign of death—like his arms and legs that were exposed. He was dressed in an evening robe and his legs were bare so I knew he couldn’t have walked here. His eyes were wide open and they were a lifeless sea of grey. Flies played about his exposed body parts, some going in and out of his mouth that was also wide open. The body emitted a scent that aired the fact that he’s been dea
EUDORA.He wasn’t there when I woke up. So it felt like a dream that made me question if he was ever even there at all. I was worried something might have happened since I slept off while I was meant to be taking care of him but Zena told me she heard him leave the house that morning and it brought instant relief knowing he was fine. She had no idea her brother spent the night, passed out on the floor of my room and I intended to keep it that way unless Alpha Rex makes an issue out of it. The only thing I was worried about was how much he saw and how much he remembered. That and Leticia acting strange this morning. Alpha Rex saw my hair and his reaction to it reminded me of all the reasons why I shouldn’t have been tupid enough to leave my door open. It was my mistake and I was scared it would cost me something. Leticia on the other hand has been in charge of cooking ever since she joined us at the house. For some reason, she thought it better to cook our meals and she added extra
EUDORAI didn’t know what made me shrink—the fact that the easy look in her eyes despite how fake they have always been, turned into something more harsh or knowing that the reason she asked me to help her with the meal for that day was because she wanted to question me about why the Alpha was in my room. Her eyes were intense as she stared at me while I fished for words to say to her. I knew anything that leaves my lips would be a stutter and I wanted to kick myself for that one thing alone. Why was I frozen this way when I have done nothing wrong? It wasn’t my fault that the Alpha passed out in my room. If anything, I was even more worried that he’d seen what I’ve been hiding all my life. “Why?” She suddenly asked again. “Why was he in your room?” I wish I knew too. I wish I knew why he almost made me pass out of fear and shock. “I…I don’t know.” I said truthfully, finding my voice, “He suddenly showed up, drunk and—”“Drunk?” She scoffed, “Who? Rex? You want me to believe that
