2:Strange powers

The next morning I woke up earlier than normal. The digital alarm clock beside my bed read 6:18 am and I tossed over to the other side.

I hadn't been able to sleep a wink. Different thought flitted through my mind. What had uncle Lucian meant by what he said? What was I? Who knew what I was?

The fact that I didn't have the answers to these questions made me really upset and I threw the thick duvet off my body in annoyance. Since I knew I wouldn't sleep anymore, I decided to go to the kitchen and make a cup of coffee.

I was going to see Alpha Gabriel today and I had to get to his home early before his training began. Sinful thoughts of the alpha threatened to swam my mind but I shut them out. I didn't want to get turned on just thinking of how hard his perfectly chiselled body would feel beneath my fingertips.

"Get a hold of yourself, Serenity",I chided myself.

I slowly made my way to the bathroom and scooped water on my face to clear the drowsiness. I brushed my teeth and took a quick bath, changing quickly into a pair of black cargo pants and a pink tanktop.

As I raised my hands to run my fingers through my hair, a large crack appeared in the mirror suddenly.

"What?",I whispered, taking a quick step backwards. The crack was enormous, starting from the top of the mirror to the bottom. I didn't touch the mirror, so how could the crack have appeared?

"I must be going crazy",I whispered to myself.

"Yeah, you're definitely crazy",Moon, my inner wolf scolded me. She had been strangely quiet ever since the incident of the previous night.

"Look who decided to speak up finally",I rolled my eyes, momentarily forgetting about the strange crack that appeared in the mirror.

"I could retreat if that's what you want",Moon retorted and I could feel she was troubled. Just like I was.

"Stop being so grumpy. Did you see what just happened?",I asked her.

"I did, and I'll tell you. It's pretty strange. Makes me wonder if it has something to do with what uncle Lucian said last night",Moon said.

"You heard that?"

"Of course I did",Moon replied and I could literally feel how disturbed she was. "I think we should pretend like we heard nothing until we understand what's going on"

After a little thought, I nodded. "You're right. But, what about this?",I waved my hands towards the mirror and it shattered suddenly. The glass shards erupted and flew towards me with blinding speed.

I screamed out and lifted my hands to protect my face, and I received another shock of my life. The glass shards froze in the air, just inches away from piercing into my face.

For a minute, I remained where I was, staring at the floating glass shards. Even Moon had gone totally silent.

"What in the name of...",she whispered in my head.

Pounding footsteps echoed from my bedroom. As I turned towards the bathroom door and dropped my hands, the glass shards dropped from the air and shattered on the ground.

The door was shoved open and uncle Lucian raced in with a wild look. His eyes were blood red, a sign of his beast prowling about in his head.

"What's wrong?",he demanded. "I heard you scream. Did someone hurt you?"

I couldn't say a word. I just stared at him in silence, my lips trembling from shock. Uncle Lucian stared at the destroyed mirror, and then at the ground covered in the glass shards.

"Are you hurt?",he asked me and pulled me into his arms, checking me thoroughly for any sign of rough handling.

I managed to shake my head. Moon was totally silent in my mind and I could understand why. Nothing like this had ever happened to me. It was utterly strange.

"I... I slipped and hit the mirror...",I managed to push out the lie, my voice trembling.

Uncle Lucian seemed to believe my lie and he carefully held my hand, leading me away from the glass shards littering the ground.

But in his eyes, I could see something else. A sign that he was hiding something, a look that told me he knew what was wrong. It made my suspicions rise.

Something was definitely wrong with me, and I would find out no matter what it took.

Two hours later, I arrived at Alpha Gabriel's mansion. I could see his warriors training in the training ground behind the house. They waved when they saw me and I smiled in return.

Alec and Medea hadn't arrived yet so I made my way to the front door.

As I passed through the large bronze gates, I noticed one of the warriors running towards me. His name was Declan and he has been giving me these signs that he was interested in me.

He was nineteen, the same age as me, and hadn't found his mate yet. Declan was handsome, and I liked him, but I didn't want to be in a relationship with him. I wanted to wait until I found my mate when I turned twenty.

"Serenity",he smiled when he stopped in front of me. His curly brown hair was damp with sweat and I could smell his refreshing scent mixed with perspiration. He had a very nice body, but it didn't make me drool the way Alpha Gabriel's body did.

"You're such an idiot",Moon scolded me. "I wish Declan could read thoughts so he would read yours"

"Don't tell me you're also attracted to Declan",I shot back at her.

"He has nice teeth",Moon said and I could hear her snickering in my head.

"Now who's the idiot?",I asked her rhetorically before focusing my attention on Declan.

"Hi Declan",I smiled sweetly at him.

"I heard what happened last night",Declan said and his blue eyes clouded with worry. "I hope you didn't get hurt"

"I was able to handle myself",I said proudly. "But thanks anyway"

"If I had been there, I would have protected you",Declan continued, staring into my eyes earnestly.

I didn't know how to reply his statement so I just smiled at him. We stayed in that position for a while, staring into each other's eyes and smiling when suddenly, the front door of the mansion was shoved open.

I turned around and my heart slammed twice in my chest when my eyes came in contact with Alpha Gabriel.

He looked utterly delicious in black pants and boots. He was shirtless and I felt my knees go weak at the sight of his chiselled abs and perfectly muscled chest. His dark hair lay in wavy curls over his forehead, giving him this sexy look. His dark eyes connected with mine and juices pooled between my legs.

One of his hands lifted and he ran it through his hair, making lust slam into my core. I was a quivering mess of need and desire by the time Alpha Gabriel walked up to where I stood.

"Slut",Moon jeered at me but I knew she felt the same way I felt towards Alpha Gabriel.

"Quiet, Moon",I shushed her and focused my attention on Alpha Gabriel.

"Serenity",he breathed my name in his deep, seductive voice. The sound of my name coming from his sensual lips was enough to give me an orgasm. I felt undone and I had to gulp to clear the hoarseness from my voice.

"Alpha Gabriel",I said softly, lowering my eyes as a sign of respect.

"My warriors informed me of last night's incident",Alpha Gabriel continued. He had a way of speaking and staring straight into my eyes that made my mouth water. It was getting increasingly hard to resist him.

"Would you listen to him, Serenity",Moon snapped at me and I giggled at her.

"I can't. He's so hot",I purred at her and focused my attention on the greek god before me.

"I hope you weren't hurt",Alpha Gabriel said and I could see the worry in his eyes. My heart leaped again. Did he care so much about me now?

"I'm fine alpha",I quickly answered him. "Unfortunately, the rogue escaped. But I managed to wound it"

"Good",Alpha Gabriel nodded. His eyes lingered on my attire for a while, resting on the swell of my hips before moving back to mine. "Come with me, and tell me everything that happened"

He didn't wait for me to give a reply. He turned abruptly and walked back to his mansion. My gaze followed him, staring at his perfect backside that fitted perfectly in his pants.

"What an ass",Moon purred in my mind and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. As I hadn't found my mate, Moon would drool over any sexy man we met.

"I guess I'll see you later",Declan said to me, drawing back my attention.

"Sure Declan",I replied and walked away from him. I could tell he was staring at my swaying hips as I walked away and I had to resist the urge to turn around and check.

I walked up to the front door and pushed it open. The moment I stepped inside and shut the door behind me, I felt someone shove me against the door, pinning me with his entire body.

I looked up in surprise and my eyes connected with dark intense eyes.

It was Alpha Gabriel.
