Chapter 228
Author's POV...
It was like she was in luck; Vader seemed to be just the kind of man she wanted to meet on her journey. She found out that she was at a certain Alpha's pack whose name was Carl, a man whom, luckily, she already knew.After Vader had called her bluff, Kara knew that it was useless to try and lie again to cover up, she was already in the open, and she knew that the man would not believe a single word that came out of her mouth if she tried to lie again.
Kara immediately decided that Vader knew how to be really smart to just put the puzzle pieces together so quickly and determine that she was the same prisoner who had escaped from the red lotus pack. Of course, she had expected that the news of her escape would spread around the whole territory. Still, she did not count on the fact that the word about the breakout from the prison would go beyond the borders of the red lotus pack.

Logan's POV...There was the calm after the storm.While some of my men tried to clean up the dead bodies that littered the field at the edge of the forest, some of them went about checking all the possible access to the house to ensure that no enemy had snuck up on us.It was during this time that I was notified of the intrusion from the left wing of the pack house. Simon called me and reported that the men had noticed footprints leading away into the river. There must have been a boat there that conveyed them away because when we tried to trace the prints, they seemed to disappear just at the edge of the river.The first thing I did was to go in to make sure that Alexa was okay, as well as Alvin.
