When Rose wakes up this time, I don’t pretend to be asleep. I know Adam is on his way with breakfast so it’s time to get up anyway. Rose gazes up at me from her position on the bed and I look down at her. Goddess she’s gorgeous. Her crystal-clear blue eyes are flecked with little bits of deep shimmery gold. I’ve never seen anything like that before. They’re mesmerizing and oh so beautiful.

Her small button nose and round cheeks are littered with freckles. All of them having a slight range of color, making each one unique, like a snowflake. My mom used to say freckles were angel kisses and I completely believe that now. My mate has been kissed by the Goddess’ angels.

Damn Adam and his horrible timing, I could have stared at her all day. Seeing her jump is a little funny, not being able to hear or smell people coming must be hard for humans. But I heard him and fully prepared myself for catching her, should the need arise. But that isn’t necessary.
