Chapter 121 – Acrimony
JONAS' POV
I make my way through the maze, debating how to start a conversation with her. What do I even say? Should I apologize for hurting her feelings again? I was starting to realize that I didn't handle the situation in the right manner. I could have told her the demigods were arriving and what she had to say could wait. But I didn't think there would be enough then. Looking back at it, the time I said those harsh words to her would have been enough. I didn't know if she could look me in the eye anymore.
I hear two voices speaking and I follow them. My steps take me towards the courtyard in the middle of the maze.
"I think I have fallen in love with you, Lisa Kane."
I freeze immediately, right before I can make the turn leading into the courtyard. I couldn't believe what I had just heard, and I could recognize Kayden's voice anywhere.
"Do you mean that?"
