CHAPTER 27

FREYA

I felt hot, and some were lying heavily on me. I opened my eyes, and I didn’t recognize the bed I was in, but I did recognize Jacob’s scent. I carefully turned around so I could face him and see that he was still sleeping.

I think back to what happened in the cave and how I just knew in my heart That what he had told me about the ice moon and everything about being a werewolf was true. Plus, the words I had heard in my dream.

“Just trust him.” Had she said? So I did.

When he bit me, or marked me as he called it, I felt something broken, become whole inside of me. Maybe broken is the wrong word to use. But something happened, and it felt like I became more of the person I was supposed to be.

Again I think about the mark, and I look at Jacob’s beck where I bit him. There is a mark looking fully formed, on his neck. It shows two wolves sitting howling at the moon, the big one is black, and the smaller one is almost white with a hint of ice blue. Above them is a moon the same color
