CHAPTER 29

FREYA

Jacob led me and his parents down a hall and into a room. On one side, there was a big table with books on shelves all around the wall. On the other side, there were some soft chairs to sit in and a smaller table.

“Freya, this is my office, my workplace,” Jacob tells me, and I nod my head.

We all sit down in the soft chairs, and I notice that his mom looks at us, when we sit on the same chair. I suddenly think I am doing something wrong, so I stand to sit in an empty one, but they all stop me.

“Beautiful. You can sit here; it is okay. I want you close to me,” Jacob says, smiling. I look at his mom fast, and she smiles at me.

“Yes, sit with him. It makes me happy to see you two together.” She says, and it makes me relax.

“Sorry, I thought I was doing something wrong. It just felt right to sit here, like I wanted to be close to you as well.” I say the last part to Jacob.

“It’s the matebond darling, it’s completely normal, especially for new mates,” Laura tells me.
