Chapter 38

Joshua POV

When we walked into the room, I saw a tube coming from her chest and she had an oxygen mask over her nose and mouth. She had a catheter coming from under the covers and I knew she would find that uncomfortable when she woke up. I watched tubing protruding from the side of her chest as it occasionally carried blood and fluid from her lungs. I’m sure she looked far worse than she actually was but I felt like I could have killed that Lycan if she hadn’t done it already. I walked to her bedside and sat on the side that didn’t have all the machines. I took her hand in mind and relished the feel of the sparks of the mate bond. I kissed her hand lightly and sighed, “I’m here, love. I’m not going anywhere.”
