Chapter 40

Isabel POV

I had no clue what happened. One minute I was fine, the next minute I was having a hard time breathing then everything went dark. The Goddess appeared before me once again, “Isabel, you fought well, but you took a punch to the wrong spot. They are going to have to operate on you and I am going to keep you in a deep sleep for a while. You will need it to ease the pain. You actually died for a few minutes, but they were able to revive you. You will be hearing more from me, but for now, I want you to sleep.” Every time she tells me to sleep, it’s the deepest sleep I have ever had. This time, it is being helped by the anesthesia.

The next thing I remember is foreign words being chanted over me, but not to me. Who the hell was this? My body hurt so much I could hardly think straight! It was almost mind-numbing pain.
