Chapter Thirty

"I was in my room sleeping when my mum rushed in, waking me up, calling my name.

'What is it, Mum?' I finally asked her.

'Harper, I had a terrible dream about you.'

My mum was scared but was relieved when she saw me breathing.

'Thank goodness you are safe.'

'Mum, I'm fine.'

I dressed up for work, walking to the dining area where I met Ava and Kate seated.

'Good morning, girls,' I greeted.

'Good morning, Harper.'

My mum was on call with her sister, Aunt Samantha, Kate's mum.

'I'm so tired,' I complain to Ava.

'Harper, you look so tired. Did you sleep after Mum came crying in your room?' Ava asked.

'Barely. I'm so tired,' I replied.

'How come you are early?'

'I have a meeting with a prospective client, and he has been busy. He is traveling soon, so the earlier, the better,' I explained to Ava.

Then my mum was still on call with Kate's mum, explaining the dream she had with her.

'Kate, what's up? What are your plans for today?' I asked.
