Chapter 54: The Game is on

“It was either that or I kill someone,” Lucas said and Kiandra wondered if he was joking or being serious.

“Wait, are you really serious about killing someone?” Kiandra asked when they got to his office.

“What do you think?” Lucas replied, giving her the chance to draw her own conclusion. She squinted her eyes at him but she didn’t say anything else.

“Inform the heads of department that I won’t be able to handle the next meeting,” Lucas instructed her and she immediately got to work.

“Are you okay?” she asked when she saw Lucas slum into his chair.

“I’m having a headache,” Lucas told her. It started back in the meeting but it had gotten worse and so he was no longer able to ignore it.

“You need to use painkillers before it graduates into something else,” she said.

“That won’t be necessary, I’ll be fine in a few minutes,” Lucas replied and he rested his head on the chair.
