Chapter 71: Make sure he doesn't go overboard

There were guards stationed outside his room and when they saw her, one of the guards reached out and opened the door for Kiandra.

She entered and saw him fast asleep on the bed. Seeing him sleeping made her smile to herself as he always had trouble sleeping.

She walked up to the bed and sat beside him. “No matter how many thank you I say, it won’t be enough for what you’ve done for me and our daughter,” she whispered to him. She then reached out and gently stroked his hair.

“Now both of you get better quickly so I can tell you both the truth,” Kiandra urged the sleeping Lucas. She didn’t say anything after that, instead, she stared at him. “If I say I love you, will you love me back?” she asked him.

She was about to say more when the lights suddenly went off making her wonder what was happening.

“Hey, will you stand guard for a while? I want to take a quick nap,” one of the guards who had been stationed outside Lucas’ room asked his partner.
