Chapter 025

Christina’s POV

For the rest of dinner, I kept to myself, for lack of what to say but it wasn’t long before Mr. Briggs returned with my packed dessert. He directed a smile at us as he gently placed the package on the table.

“I was told you’re set to leave, hence, I decided to bring this here, myself. I hope you enjoyed your meal?”

“It was wonderful, Mr. Briggs, and it’s been such an honor to meet you,” I smiled at him, my excitement returning.

I had no idea how Scott got to know of my little fantasy to meet with Chef Briggs but it made my evening and I didn’t know how to thank him for it. He’s been so sweet all evening, despite the cold reminder that I was still bound by his contract with my dad.

“I’m glad I made your evening,” He winked and directed his attention to Scott, who had been quietly watching us, an unreadable expression etched on his face. “I’m sure you enjoyed your evening too, Reid,”

“Of course, she made my night,” Scott’s lips tilted in a smile that didn’t quite reach
