Christina’s POV

For the rest of the evening, after my infuriating encounter with Scott, I remained in my bedroom, not wishing to see his face or even come across any of his workers, most especially Dexter. My heart was still heavy from how easily he’d stolen my happiness by putting me under house arrest but I should have known him by now. It wasn’t far-fetched that he’d take such drastic actions, knowing fully well that I depended on him. He wanted to control me by all means and from the very beginning I should have known that he wasn’t trying to be nice to me just to make me comfortable. It was all part of his ploy to have me under his control when he realized he couldn’t get me to fall to his will with strict orders. He decided to act nice, to lure me into it but I should be happy that I realized the truth before it was too late.
