Christina’s POV

I stood by the shelves, staring at all of my favorite books one last time. My heart was heavy with sadness but I didn’t let it affect my decision. I needed to regain control of my life, and it starts with what I’m about to do. I was tired of allowing Scott to push me around. My pride wouldn’t let me submit to a man who has no regards for me.

I stepped closer to the shelves, allowing my fingers to trace the books, copy after copy, as I moved along, until the end. Then my eyes landed on one of them that I hadn’t read.
