It had been two months since I last spent the night with Kai. Two months since he pressed his lips against mine before slipping out of the room.
I shouldn’t have any reason to expect more. He had never promised me anything and neither had I.
So why did my heart beat faster every time Aria called me? And why did I feel disappointed every time she didn’t mention his name?
As each week passed without Aria calling me to say Eric had been in touch, I felt more and more frustrated with the situation. I had no way of contacting him. Kai and I had no lines of communication.
