The morning after

Vanessa's POV

I paused in shock, wondering if I heard Trinity right. Did she just threaten me? I was speechless, as she continued,

“No attachments, remember? So don’t let any of this go to your head. First, it was the chairman showering you with gifts, now you’re going out to important places with your employer? That is not part of our deal, Vanessa. Yes, I told you to act like a real surrogate, but you are overdoing it this time.”

I muttered, “Trinity, I—”
