I didn’t want to ruin my honeymoon by doubting George but it seemed like he was hiding something from me.

Whoever Enrico was, it seemed like he was someone I wasn’t supposed to know about. George was acting pretty sneaky about the call. I knew he had only one friend, Charles and I knew most of his business associates as I used to be his secretary.

Even if he formed alliances with new people, he wouldn’t be so secretive about it. If it was a business call, he would have excused himself and taken it. Throughout our time in Hawaii, Enrico had called a few times, aside from the time at the seafood restaurant, but George never took his call around me.

However, I decided not to talk about it. If he was hiding something from me, he probably had a good reason for doing so. Even before we got married, he was very transparent. I doubted things would change just because we finally confessed to each other and had rings on our marriage fingers.
