76. Headache

There was a faint throbbing in my head and I could hear a distant movement as my eyelids slowly fluttered open. They closed immediately after the bright light shone against my eyes.

Breathing out, I opened them again and tried to adjust to the light. I could hear people speaking around me but I couldn’t tell what they were talking about as I tried to make sense of what had happened.

The ceiling I was staring at was all white. It didn’t look like my and George’s bedroom. Where was I and what the hell happened?

“You’re awake!” Somebody suddenly exclaimed beside me, making me flinch. I turned slightly to see that it was Olivia, but as soon as she spoke, there were three other heads staring down at me; Maya, my mom, and my mother-in-law.

I looked around. “Why am I in the hospital?”

“You fainted, Abby!” Olivia didn’t hesitate to tell me. “We were all so scared for you. How are you feeling? Are you feeling better now? Are you having any pain? You can tell us.”
