Maya and I had been thinking of the different possibilities as to why my husband would possess a gun. We hadn’t even been talking for more than thirty minutes before we heard a knock on the door.

I was so not expecting him but as soon as I heard him calling out my name, I panicked and ran away.

I could hear him speaking with Maya and I wasn’t even surprised when he caught her in a lie. She was worse than me when it came to lying. She couldn’t lie to save her life.
