Abigail was acting pretty weird.

I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t know what it was about. It wasn’t like her to suddenly disappear after I brought her to the office myself. It made me wonder what had happened for her to rush off like that, dropping a silly note that she was on her way home so I could concentrate on my work.

The worst part was that she still didn’t go back home. She went to her friend’s place and when I tried to reach her, she refused to take my calls. After that, she turned off her phone.

So you could understand why I wasn’t in the mood to work anymore.

“Did anyone come into the office while I was gone?” I asked my secretary when she came inside my office.

She shook her head. “No, sir. Only Mrs. Galanti was inside until she told me to tell you she was leaving.”
