Chapter 48. Feeling worried

Anita doesn't say anything to her mother as she gets up from her seat and proceeds to the kitchen to return her used dish.

It's late, and most of her sisters are already asleep, so she chooses to wash and rinse her own soiled dish to keep it clean.

Just then, her mother opens the kitchen door and goes in, sighing and apologizing: "I'm sorry, mom."

"It's fine?" Mrs. Tonia answers by storing her used dish in the kitchen sink.

"Goodnight," she says to Anita before leaving the kitchen, while Anita sighs and takes up her mother's used dish to wash it.

She rinses it out and retains it, as well as the sponge, and organizes the kitchen neatly before finally leaving the kitchen and returning to her room for a quick shower.

She shakes her head as she recalls the man who offered to drive her home.

"What does he want from me?" she asks herself as she opens her room door and steps in.
